Welcome To A New School Year in the Halton District School Board | 2023-2024

As the 2023-2024 school year quickly approaches, HDSB schools have been busy preparing to welcome more than 67,000 students and nearly 11,000 staff. Facility Services and school staff have worked very hard to ensure our buildings are ready for learning and working.

As Chair of the Halton District School Board, I am so excited to welcome students, staff and families to what we hope will be an exceptional year of learning. We hope your summer break was filled with rest, reflection and important time with loved ones.



This academic year holds a world of possibilities for you to explore. I encourage you all to embrace each challenge as an opportunity to grow and become the best version of yourselves. Your curiosity and enthusiasm inspire us all, and we can't wait to witness your achievements and successes.



In the Halton District School Board, we will continue our commitment to our 2020-2024 Multi-Year Strategic Plan which sets direction and actions to ensure our efforts as an organization are aligned and coordinated. I know I speak on behalf of all the Trustees when I say we have been so proud of this plan and the positive impact it has had on learning across the entire system.



As we enter the final year of the current plan, we remain as committed and steadfast to ensure we fulfill its outlined strategies and goals as we have been since it was implemented three years ago.



We hope this upcoming school year provides everything you need to be as successful as you can be.

For families with children entering Kindergarten, welcome to the Halton District School Board. You have our promise that we will do our best to ensure you all experience a sense of belonging, care and community in the HDSB.



For students entering the final year in secondary school, we cheer you on as you approach the end of your time with the HDSB and prepare for your post secondary plans.
