The purpose of Franconnexion was to give students a chance to use the French language that they had learned in the classroom in real life contexts to interact with other students across the board en français. The goal was to also create a day that would allow students and teachers to be exposed to the French culture, as it is a large part of the new revised FSL curriculum. Students and teachers would gain an appreciation of the French culture while seeing how they could infuse cultural experiences into their classrooms or their everyday lives outside of the classroom, gaining a new perspective and appreciation for the French language itself. We hoped that the students would then take on a leadership role back at their schools, to spread the joie de la francophonie.
